922 days.

Bush was still president. the Economy hadn't buckled.

Live free or die hard, transformers, Pirates 3:at worlds End and

300 were the hot new releases in the theaters.

True Blood, Glee and the Horrid Twilight had not even been heard of yet.

the Iphone was so brand new, many people hadn't even seen one in person.

i can barely recall what that time felt like now.

Everything has changed around us. Under us.

life rolls on,even when you decide to stop. Sometimes it rolls over you.

Thats when he was taken away.

perhaps it was karma, some people think it was deserved.

Ive never said he was an angel. But when you are judged on the intoxicated

testimony of people you called your friends, my ideas of "Fair" tend

to get as bent out of shape as i do.

After almost 3 years being first in Walla walla, then over to spokane ...

Cecil's coming home Monday. Ive done everything i knew to help him.

to help his family while he couldn't. i became his representative to

people across the country for a brief time.

I've made it to visit him twice during this time, talked with him countless

times on the phone. mostly he is still the same guy, i doubt anyone could

ever break the sarcastic, goofy, plain crazy side of him.

But its the changes that make me tense. not even the ways he has changed.

The way this world has changed. the way time changes your eyes.

if you were to walk into a room for 2 years and then come back out,

how much would you recognize? how much would you even want to

remember of the life and people you once knew?

im excited to hug him and bring him home. im anxious to hear him laugh

and catch him up on films and video games he has missed out on.

Part of me is scared to see fear of this unfamiliar world in his eyes.

but its time. Time to roll the chapter closed, and begin a new one.

This is Gabriel during an afternoon nap. Hope you all had a great day. :)

We visited the 9/11 Memorial in August 2016 and were really impressed. A dignified, apt memorial ... From the mere photographical point of view, the colours of the sky and the reflecting face of the skyscrapers are quite puzzling, what is real and what is mirrored ...

In Memory of Stavroula Kallos (December, 1914 - January 11, 2014) my mother-in-law. She was a funny, hard working, little lady from Greece who loved flowers and loved purple.

I've used Jupiter 9 85mm f/2 for this shot, together with m42 extension tube. Aperture probably about f/8

Bertone built and sold the former Fiat X1/9 from 1982 to 1989. The car was originally designed by Bertone and sold as a Fiat until 1982.

We headed off to the Welsh coast at Llandudno for a trig point, and took the scenic route home to see snow-capped mountains and enjoy a pint of admittedly rather average ale in the Bryn Tyrch in Capel Curig, a pub that wants to be a top notch hotel but really ought not to forget that it makes a smashing cosy boozer.

The rocket's booster stage reportedly landed on a ship nine minutes after the reported 6:14 PM launch from Vandenberg AFB.

After adjusting for errors in my camera's clock, I find this image was taken at 6:17 PM corrected local time in California, which coincides with the beginning of the 1st stage's controlled descent three minutes after launch, so perhaps that's what I captured here, although I can't explain why there appear to be 3 objects that have separated from the 2nd stage.

When it first came into view here, the rocket was west of Los Angeles, about 100 miles downrange from Vandenberg and seemingly flying in a SSE direction.

I'd heard the launch announcement on the news, so I quickly walked outside with my camera loaded for bear, or spaceships. The crescent moon dominated the twilight sky, and I got a couple good shots before the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket appeared as a bright streak in the WNW sky, not looking immediately different from an approaching jet, but the vapor trail soon grew in size, and I realized I was seeing the spaceship, which then flew across the western sky toward the S over the next couple of minutes before it was lost behind some trees.

The big Sigma 100-400 zoom proved up to the challenge, reliably focusing on the rocket's hot exhaust, which for focus if not composition I kept centered, and so this image has been cropped.

For my Historical Hundred. This one is a bit tenuous but I need to make some progress with this project as the year is way more than 10% over :-)

Oxford was first settled in Saxon times, and was initially known as "Oxenaforda", meaning "Ford of the Ox". It began with the foundation of St Frideswide's nunnery in the 8th century. Buildings in Oxford demonstrate an example of every British architectural period since the arrival of the Saxons, including the iconic, mid-18th century Radcliffe Camera (Wikipedia), tagged above.

I didn't have time to get out and shoot :( so I am posting this one from another shoot from day 2nd i think..
