Rumor has it that during the 1930.s owners of the gas station along Rt 66 gave counterfeit money as change, Although the rumors are disputed, the name of the remains of the old gas station stuck

Interesting facts:
This once-wild plant is native to Europe and was given its name due to rampant proliferation in cornfields. The seeds thrive in the same conditions as corn; open, sunny fields with moderately dry soil, yet over time, due to the over-use of herbicides in cornfields throughout Europe and the US, Cornflowers no longer reseeded themselves naturally.
Cornflowers are sometimes referred to by their nickname, "bachelor's button" due to an old practice when men wore a cornflower in a buttonhole of their suit, indicating they are in love or they were ready for courting. Cornflowers, or Bachelor Buttons, are also used as boutonnieres in weddings, often worn by the groom and his best man which is a more modern twist on this traditional symbol of love and devotion.

Elke dag rijdt Crossrail in opdracht van Shuttlewise een huckepacktrein tussen het Belgische Gent en het Italiaanse Mortara. Enkel de zondagse rit naar Gent rijdt transit door Nederland, via Venlo en Roosendaal. De rit wordt vrijwel standaard gereden door een class 66.
Op 7 augustus 2022 vond er een aanrijding plaats bij Blerick waardoor de Mortara-shuttle vertraging op liep. Dit bood de kans om de trein op andere stekken vast te leggen, waar hij normaal niet 'goed voor de zon' rijdt.

Last nigh drving back, I tought that I would do a little stop at the wind mill park to see the stars. The roads are bad to get there, I should only go with truck not car...anyway I enjoy and found a nice little spot. So here is Windmill #66 vs milky way.
I think my shutter was bit too long(30sec) the stars are trailling just a bit.
Route 66 runs right by the Petrified Forest National Park. We only had a short amount of time available to go by some Route 66 spots. We have plans to spend more time on Route 66 the next time that we are in the area.
DB Cargo 152 141 ist hier mit einem Kesselwagen bei Postbauer-Heng in Richtung Nürnberg (-Karlsruhe) zu sehen.
WAH are checking in checked out but non returned books. We are more lenders than borrowers, but I suspect at least one of these is a University library book which will forever be unreturned.

In het dal hoorde we in de verte een luid gebrul, wat niet anders kon zijn dan een class 66. Na enkele minuten gebrul doemde inderdaad een class 66 in de verte op.

66713 passes through the beautiful Rutland countryside near the village of Wing. The well manicured backdrop makes for a chocolate box picture perfect scene except for the gnarly old tree which has yet to blossom into its full spring splendour.
