The first southbound CTrail train of the day rolls past Silver Lake as it passes between Berlin and Meriden, CT on a beautiful fall morning.
A weekend Tonbridge bound service is seen awaiting the off at Wateringbury.
It is strange, even 34 years later I recall including the out of focus crossing lamp and deciding that it would still be better to include it.
De 6401 werd op 30 april 1988 afgeleverd als de eerste van de nieuwe serie 6400. Op 7 juli 1988 kwam de loc in dienst en hier zien we de loc een paar dagen later in Tilburg.

CTrail 6401 is seen passing Judd Square Condominiums in Wallingford. The former 1800s factory is better known as the H. L. Judd Company, which produced decorative art metal of fine quality sand castings in iron, brass, and bronze.
ICE 6401 and a gaggle of SD40-2s bring a CCHU type train over the Sabula Drawbridge and into Iowa. The June 2007 date means this was a Rasmussen Family Camping trip to the Savanna, IL area. While the IC&E didn't run as many trains as did its predecessor IMRL, it still drew plenty of attention for the fleet of nicely painted blue and yellow SD40-2s and GP40-2s.
Of course, the ICE is now gone along with those MILW era searchlights. I'm sure modern day CP runs a train or two across the old drawbridge.

ES44AC 6401 with a northbound empty coal train crossing the very shallow Meramec River @ Arnold, Mo. (210897)*
Drie weken nadat ze het land binnenkwam via Venlo, wordt de 6401 op 20 mei 1988 op Utrecht CS gepresenteerd. Op 11 mei werd ze Mijndert gedoopt, vernoemd naar Mijndert Pon, de importeur van Volkswagen in Nederland.
