today my oldest boy turned four - time to celebrate his first real children’s birthday party - it was great, colorful, loud, messy, sticky, chaotic, funny, … actually exactly what a children’s birthday should be like

Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 1 + Expired 600 Film + ND Filter.
Funny isn't it - how having a new camera can make someone else's washing hanging on the line in the sunshine, take on a whole new identity as Polaroid fodder. I just hope the owners of this freshly drying laundry weren't actually watching me faff about trying to do this.
I suspect they consider me strange enough as it is...
For some reason...

the last day of lent. i was so crabby today, so tired of sand and dirt, mosquitoes and lost things, of doing everything no one can seem to do on their own... and then this evening's light and a chuck will's widow... and i do have a choice in how i react. now i need to think about where to go next.
Strobist - Softbox camera left.
I love... love... love My Goose, along with all my other liquor. I don't consider myself to be an alcoholic, more like a Mixaholic. I should've been a chemist or something. Actually I'm a bartender too... at least I was for a few years until I started cocktailing.
I was laid off from my day job but at least I still have my part-time job.

Let me first say this was a blast to make. I'm pretty good at making faces, so I didn't have any problems coming up with expressions. (I use "emotions" loosely here.) This has certainly been done before, but I wanted to try it myself.
Also, I think I finally got the hang of natural lighting. I took these pictures near the large window in my apartment, against a white wall. The pictures turned out clearer and more natural than my previous portraits. Progress!
