I've told the story before I was originally drawn to my County Regional Parks by my first real sightings of this large bird. They are sizeable, weighing around 4 lbs., a body length of 26 inches, and wingspan of 67 inches (that's more than I am tall). (I missed the wingspan shot trying to get on the sunny side of it.)
