Belém Tower is a fortified tower located in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery)because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime discoveries of the era of the Age of Discoveries. The tower was commissioned by King John II to be part of a defence system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.
The tower was built in the early 16th century and is a prominent example of the Portuguese Manueline style, but it also incorporates hints of other architectural styles] The structure was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and a 30-metre (98.4 ft), four-storey tower. It has incorrectly been stated that the tower was built in the middle of the Tagus and now sits near the shore because the river was redirected after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. In fact, the tower was built on a small island in the Tagus River near the Lisbon shore

Auf der Giselabahn, die von Wörgl über St. Johann, Saalfelden und Zell am See nach Schwarzach St. Veit führt und von dort weiter Richtung Salzburg, gibt es nur wenig Güterverkehr. Am 25.01.2022 fuhr mir allerdings bei Pfaffenschwendt einer dieser wenigen Güterzüge passend vor die Linse. Der von 1116 269 angeführte Zug hat den höchsten Punkt der Strecke bei Hochfilzen (knapp 1000 Meter) bereits hinter sich und rollt nun abwärts Richtung Wörgl.

Am 30.07.20 war die 186 269 mit einem schönen bunten KLV unterwegs im Rheintal. Bei Assmannshausen konnte dann auf den Auslöser geklickt werden.
Ich wünsche allen einen schönen zweiten Advent und einen schönen Nikolaustag. :-)

Macro Monday - Zigzag

269-355 + TECO de Medway procedente de Valencia-Fuente San Luis y con destino en Vicálvaro a su paso por Canals.
Después de innumerables intentos, con una suerte con el sol y las nubes que parecía estar gafada, al fin hubo oportunidad y pudimos sacar bien estas 269 de Medway. Se podría decir que fue bastante casualidad, pues las vi a un par de kilómetros paradas en el ramal de FSL-Alfafar, teniendo la suerte de poder fotografiarlas allí, para posteriormente recoger al colega de Xátiva y con un margen de unos segundos echar esta toma subiendo hacia La Encina.
