Yesterday, the local zoo (the "Wilhelma" in Stuttgart) presented its baby polar bear to the public. Today I made a visit.
In contrast to the famous Knut from Berlin, Wilbär is raised by his mother Corinna (which was the reason for all the secrecy, as the responsible persons of the zoo didn't want to disturb the relationship between Wilbär and his mother).
More pictures of Wilbär.
I licensed the picture for use on a baseball cap for kids.

The U Bein bridge in Mandalay. This bridge is probably Mandalay's most visited attraction, it is made entirely out of teak wood and is thought to be the longest in the world of it's type. Building was started in 1849 and it took 2 years to finish, it's purpose was to connect 2 monasteries on either side of the Taungthaman Lake.

So I decided to make an IS-2 and this was the result. Not my greatest work ever but it ain't bad. Credit to the fuel tank thing on the side goes to Dips.
Enjoy!
Momma and 1 of her kits..
I happened to get very lucky this morning, while on a walk in a park in Winnipeg. I turned a corner and there was a momma mink and what turned out to be 3 kits.
I was able to get a few quick pictures of momma and 1 of her kits (the other 2 stayed back in the tall grass).. before momma decided to take a closer look at me and then take off with her kits in tow...
All comments regarding this picture, subject, composition, etc are welcome and appreciated. TIA.
One of the many challenges of travel photography is trying to always find the best vantage point in the lighting conditions of the moment even with much research beforehand it is always a constant fine-tuning when you are on site.
Most of us don’t have the luxury of returning to place to capture it in a better light, from different angle, at a different time without crowds, or even that we have our focus properly capturing the right things in a scene so we have to “Make hay while the sun is shining” as my father used to say.
Pictured here in the heart of the Münster Altstadt is the Erbdrostenhof, a three-wing late Baroque palace designed by the master of Westphalian Baroque, Johann Conrad Schlaun in 1757, it is located on the Salzstraße surrounded by many shops and cafes and is a real sun trap in the midday.
A lot of the palace was destroyed during the many air raids that Münster endured and fully destroying 90% of the city when everything was said and done but it was faithfully recreated in mid 60’s by the Austrian restorer Paul Reckendorfer and a nice job I must say.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 29mm 1/60s, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia curves masks and DXO Nik Color Efex)
Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.
I took this photo at the Old Village restaurant and this photo achieves requirement 2. My friend in this photo was sitting against the window. I set the ISO as 6400 and f/4.5 to capture more light. The key light is the natural light from outside and the fill light is the lamp which is near my friend but not showed in this photo.
