We wanted to go back for another picknic to Pelee. We had to twist our dogs paws since they do not like to go swimming and wandering (ha ha).
This sketch shows the station seen from its left side. Again, each function has its own number.
1. The first function shows that when we put the hay in, it falls further down towards the bottom of the "gutter". This happens because of the angle its designed in. So every time we fill up, the oldest hay gathers in the bottom, and the new towards the the top of the gutter. This forces the sheep to eat the hay they have been given before they can access the newer hay, which will prevent a lot of food from going to waste. Food going to waste because the animals always want the freshest hay, even though what they have left is perfectly fine to eat, is something that happens too often and I think this will take care of that problem.
2. A window where the light can get in. Its faced east so the sheep sleeping inside can enjoy the warmth of the morning sun.
3. The design of the station includes a "crack" where the air can get in and create natural ventilation. With the winds we have up here, I think this will work very well.
