Finally! Got the shelves adjusted and the basics set up - furniture, stairs, etc... Now moving on to details (pictures on the walls, decor...). Top shelf - entrance, table for guests and counter (counter is still in progress!). Middle shelf - more sitting for guests. Bottom shelf - kitchen - also still in progress. I plan to make a long table for baking/cooking where the chest of drawers is sitting right now. Also, need to build entrance door for the top of the stairs.
But so far so good... A bit cramped, but with 1:4 scale it's hard to make a large display with limited space.

In one of those outside corridor of the Imperial Palace, a surprised can appears everywhere... Here there is something attractive at 2 o' clock. But what?
I guess this kind of streets in the Forbidden City where originally dedicated for the servants to go from one pavilion to an other, without having to cross the way of one of the Important people who lived there... that is just a guess...

Part of a fine tradition in Denmark (and the Faroe Islands, and probably many other maritime nations) of making models of ships that have had unfortunate accidents at sea.
In 1879 door spoorwegarchitect Margadant ontworpen tweede station van Leiden. Het eerste werd opgeleverd in 1843, maar was eigenlijk ook al een tweede:
omdat er enig oponthoud was in het doortrekken van de lijn vanaf de spoorbrug over de Haarlemmertrekvaart in 1842, werd er een provisorisch station aangelegd aan de oostzijde van de spoorbrug. Hier vertrok op 17 augustus 1842 de eerste trein van Leiden naar Amsterdam..
We zien hier het voorplein met het goederenstation aan de reeds gedempte Spoorweghaven, inclusief rangerende stoomtractie (!) .Toen heel normaal aan de voor/ straatzijde van een stationsgebouw, nu onbestaanbaar..
De huizen links zijn al leeg en slooprijp gemaakt.
De foto stamt uit 1951 en de voorbereidingen voor het omhoog brengen van de spoorbaan zijn duidelijk te zien.
Wel bevreemdend is het zorgvuldig ( bijna) buiten beeld gehouden andere railbedrijf bij dit station:de tramsporen van de NZH en HTM.... Wie goed kijkt ziet links naast de loods de daken van een drietal B500 rijtuigen van de NZH op een opstelspoor.

Here's another view of the Columbia River from the same location as the previous posting. Which one do you like better? I am kinda torn between the two of them.
I think this will be one of the last times this year that I will upload another bunch of "fall-colored" shots :D
What I like about photography is that you can always explore new things, even at places where you've been several times before.

The Dunedin Model Train Show wants this pic for their flyer so I've spent the last two hours revisiting memories from three or four trips out to Arizona seven years ago. Back then, just before the financial crisis hit, there was a lot of post-merger colour and older power on the trains (although not so much on this particular one, which was all dash-9s except for the -8 in #2 spot).
