188 exits Hatfield Tunnel and crosses the Tug Fork back into West Virginia behind the Lehigh Valley Heritage Unit.

Nicht mehr top aktuell aber zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme hingegen schon. Mit der Auslieferung der Baureihe 188 an die Railpool gelangten sogleich fünf Fahrzeuge an die SBB Cargo International. Mit dabei waren 188 120, 124, 125, 126 und 127, wovon zwei Loks in den Hausfarben von SBBCI beklebt wurden. Am 01.06.26 folgten aufgrund diverser Kinderkrankheiten zusätzlich die Loks 188 133 + 139 die lediglich als Reserve dienten. Wobei Lok 188 133 inzwischen wieder zurückgegeben und 188 139 gegen die störungsanfällige 188 120 ausgetauscht wurde.
Während 188 124 im gleichen Stil wie die Silverpiercer 193er gestaltet wurde, erhielt Lok 125 ein Sonderdesign eigens für den Neuverkehr aus Frankreich. Es versteht sich also von selbst, dass der Übername der Lok als Frankreichpiercer bezeichnet wird. Die weiteren Lokomotiven erstrahlen im klassischen Railpool Outfit. Dabei sticht einzig 188 120 mit seitlich grossem Railpool Anschrift heraus und ist eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den weiteren nackigen 188er.
Gerade mal zwei Tage nach Betriebsstart des neuen Frankreich-Verkehrs konnte ich den Frankreichpiercer 188 125 mit Wappen «Tour Eiffel» in aller Ruhe im Rangierbahnhof Basel ablichten.
