I think it looks rather Chinese in design? The Nordishe Løwe did sail on the far east, and this model was probably made by a surviving crew member after she sank at Lambi. He might well have - or remember - Chinese lions.
The flag is not the Norwegian one, but the Danish Dannebrog. The kind way to put it is that Norway "shared" king and flag with Denmark at the time.
