An evening dedicated to the memory of Garineh Alexandrian (Lebanon)
An evening dedicated to the memory of late Garin eh Alexandrian was organized by the Regional Committee of Hamazkayin in Lebanon and took place on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 7:00 PM, at the Vasbouragan Hall. Bishop Kegham Khacherian, the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon, Antranig Mserlian, the Mayor of Bourj Hamoud, representatives of official bodies, members of Hamazkayin and family were attending the event.
Silva Kurkjian delivered the opening speech of the evening on behalf of the Regional Committee of Hamazkayin in Lebanon and said that Garineh Alexandrian was not an ordinary member of Hamazkayin. She added that for many years, Garineh Alexandrian had realized the task of creating and modeling the Armenian folk dance costumes of the Knar Dance Troupe, as well as those of Kasbar Ipegian Theater Company, as well as had taken upon herself the tasks of organizing and developing the Artisan Center of Armenian Red Cross in Lebanon.
Afterwards, the audience saw a video of photos and accounts to the memory of Garineh Alexandrian. Afterwards, Seta Cheorekjian delivered a speech on behalf of the Armenian Red Cross in Lebanon. She said that Garineh Alexandrian had a unique personality and that she had her great impact on the organization.
Following to an art program performed by Zakar and Camilla Keshishians, Hagop Ladoian delivered the word of the Regional Committee of Hamazkayin in Lebanon. He said that Mrs. Alexandrian had a transparent soul, a very truthful character, and a clear nature. He affirmed that the activation of all the art schools of Hamazkayin is the best happening to state that the dream of Mrs. Alexandrian and all other dedicated members of Hamazkayin is becoming a reality. Hagop Ladoian mentioned that Garineh Alexandrian’s example is an educating indicator for the next generations.
Afterwards, Irma Dedeian recited the poems “Kou hishadagt ais kisher” and “Paghtsank.” The evening dedicated to the memory of Garineh Alexandrian was concluded by an Arthur Meschian song. copyright@Ashnag
