LMS Princess Coronation Class 6229 'Duchess of Hamilton'

Preserved London Midland and Scottish (LMS) 'Princess Coronation Class' 4-6-2 pacific steam locomotive 6229 'Duchess of Hamilton' in 'crimson lake' streamlined livery inside The Great Hall at The National Railway Museum in York in the County of North Yorkshire (UK).

6229 was designed by Chief Mechanical Engineer of the LMS William Stanier and built at Crewe Works in September 1938.

6229 was retired from service as British Railways 46229 in February 1964.

Note the dust on top of the locomotive.
