55 year old English Electric Type 3 Class 37 Co-Co diesel locomotive 37669 as operated by the West Coast Railway Company working the 1Z61 09:17 (10:37 3E) Highbury and Islington- Sizewell B Power Station Charity Railtours 'The Mayflower' excursion (in aid of Macmillan cancer support) at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in Essex (UK) on April 14th 2018.
Along for the ride at the back as rear gunner is preserved Class 47 diesel locomotive 47580 'County of Essex'.
37669 was built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows and entered service as D6829 on March 20th 1963.
The originally booked steam locomotive, LNER Class B1 61306 'Mayflower' was prevented by Network Rail from hauling this excursion train due a loading gauge issue much to the disappointment of many.
