Dead Horse Gap
Dead Horse Gap (you can imagine how it got its name) is crossed by the Alpine Way south-west of the Thredbo ski village.
The Alpine Way was built in around 1950 as part of the access for the Snowy Mountains Scheme. It wasn't completely paved until the 1990's and i often remember driving on the snow covered dirt road on our way to Thredbo and Jindabyne.
