Cleaning Moldy Winscreen Washer Water
My car developed a serious case of mould in the windscreen washer reservoir. I could no longer pull water through to the windscreen!
I thought I would need to take out/replace the tank, or take it to the garage, but then I thought scientifically. I brought a piece of tubing from a DIY store for about £1:50, set it up to syphon the mouldy water out of the tank. Once that got going, I jet washed the inside of the tank with the garden hose! After about 30mins (I also used a small amount of bleach once I was confident I could completely replace the water with this method) I had a spotless tank again.
I then took the hose out, the water completely drained. I then refilled with windscreen washer liquid and water. Hay presto the full jet on the windscreen worked first time!
