One of the images I took during the 48 hr. “One Weekend in Whittier” #1wkndWhit photography event from 3/31 to 4/2/17. Last year for the “One Day in Whittier” event, I shot on this bridge at this location in the early morning for a sunrise shot called "Morning Jog on 5 Points Bridge" , It was one of the 30+ images chosen to be in the gallery show at the Whittier Public Library to commemorate the 1st year event. See it here: flic.kr/p/ENPERj This year I wanted to change things up a bit and do the opposite; A sunset/night scene. I got to the bridge just in time to setup my tripod and decide on the different angles I wanted to shoot. I took over 375 images here playing with different settings and angles. It takes a LOT of time to time the lights of the traffic to ensure I got enough of the light streaks and I wanted at least 2 paths of traffic going at the same time to get a greater effect of the motion. I liked several of the shots and this is one of the. I took another shot looking west and I got the crescent moon in that one which is really cool. I was using a brand new ultra-wide angle lens that I had bought but never used before so this was the perfect opportunity to try it out for this kind of shot. Camera and Settings: Canon 6D, Rokinon 14mm f2.8 ultra-wide manual lens, ISO 200 for 1/2 a second exposure. Not sure about the aperture as it doesn’t have electronics in it to communicate the EXIF info but I was switching between f11 and f16 most likely for best depth of field. Tripod is a Vanguard Alta Pro 283CT with SBH-100 ball head. Edited in Lightroom v2015.10
