06/05/16365 Main Street Project – 63 of 365

Congratulations Mount Saint Joseph High School – Class of 2016

There were lots of easy contenders for today’s 365 Project photo.

There was an introspective moment with Mr. Bernd McDivitt as he looked back at 50 years of graduations… A great photo to be sure, and although he was very gracious in letting me take the photo, after 50 years, I think he deserves to have his introspective moment to himself. Congratulations to him. There was a father and son moment and later a family moment with the Delaney family as today they proudly watched son Kevin shake hands and receive his diploma from Mr. Dave Norton in a similar fashion as father Tim had done 35 years earlier. Congratulations to them. There was a moment with my brother Dan, and my High School Art teacher, Ken Pittman. You can thank Mr. Pittman if some of my photos have any sense of composition at all, and you can thank Dan if you think that I can occasionally cobble a worthy sentence.

In the end, I liked and chose this photo as symbolic and representative of the day. In this photo, I stand behind and among today’s graduates. Young, strong, confident, and educated with their adult lives a clean canvas. I look forward to seeing and wonder what they will have painted in 35 years.

Hail Mount Saint Joseph High. Hail Alma Mater.
