TORCHED POLY

A method I've used in the past, simply sanding and then using a torch to bring out the grain. I was shocked by the beautiful coloring when I applied the first coat of clear gloss.

We had spray foam insulation installed in our home rather than just patch the access holes they cut in our home's knee walls, I built some book cases.

The moveable shelves were made from scraps I found in our attic, and are an incredibly rich, warm color. I was pleasantly surprised!

As far as the spray foam is concerned, our furnace is probably breathing a sigh of relief as it now only kicks in about twice every hour to maintain a comfortable temperature. I'm glad we paid for the whole-home process rather than exterior-only, which would have been cheaper and less effective.
