The Carbon Arc Projector

One of the three and only surviving Carbon Arc projectors at the LA theatre, installed in 1950! Its one mammoth piece of equipment that was once state of the art when it was installed. The huge cooling air vents at the top (about 6-8 inches in diameter) give an idea about the scale and size...The projectionist's viewing window and switch board can also be seen...

not sure if selective coloring works here, but the idea was to differentiate the view of the opulent and ornate theatre by keeping its color.
