a flight to remember...

Just returned from an awesome vacation at Lake Tahoe.
Had an experience of a lifetime on board a hot air balloon over the lake.
The experience is one of its kind in the sense that the Hot air balloon is launched from
a ship in the lake and also makes a breath-taking landing on the ship!!
Before it actually lands on the ship, the pilot makes a "splash and dash" maneuver, where the balloon actually touches
the surface of the lake. This pic is taken by me on board the ship when the other set of passengers were on board the balloon.
This is quite exclusive in the sense that there is only one trip in a day, that takes a total of 20 people (in groups of 2) to a height of 3000+ feet!
After the successful flight, the ritual of opening of champagne bottle is accompanied by some incredible stories of the history of Ballooning.
An additional "occasion" for the champagne ritual was our second marriage anniversary which too was given a toast by the crew and our fellow passengers :)
Quite a way to celebrate your anniversary at 3000 feet above one of the most beautiful lakes in the world! :)
To sum up, IMHO, a trip to lake tahoe without a ride on the balloon is incomplete. Period.
The captain of the ship, the pilot and the entire crew is inargubly one of the finest crew you will ever meet. Thorough professionals and super hosts!
