Most of this area was revamped during the 2011 season when Mach Tower was added. Originally, it was just a path that led directly into Der Marktplatz, with no way around it due to landscaping, meaning that you had to walk through the store to reach the other side. Since 2011 the area was opened up with the addition of tables (for pretzel shop diners) and a smoking area, which was previously located here.
