Ronzig the Wizard

Elephants or Pachyderms come in two separate subspecies, Indian and African. The largest land mammal still in existence, the elephant has been a helpful friend and willing worker since ancient times. Elephants were beasts of burden, able to transport people or heavy loads over great distances. They served as heavy equipment long before machines were invented and could demolish unwanted structures or clear obstructions from the terrain, allowing construction of roads and buildings. At war, they were nearly unstoppable and terrorized opposing armies into disorderly retreat at first sight. Their ivory tusks have been prized material for carving fine art for ages and the value of this timeless material enticed man to hunt the elephant to the very edge of extinction. Today, in an effort to preserve the few remaining herds, there is a worldwide ban on the sale and export or import of ivory from elephant tusks and large tracts of land have been set aside as preserves for their protection.
They are a must see for any child visiting the zoo or the circus where they have become star performers.
