46/100 - Will
There are times when I take a moment to consider whether or not a person would make a good stranger, but as I was passing the Laughing Cafe, I saw a stranger that was an instant candidate. I approached Will by opening with a compliment on his hybrid eye wear somewhere between shades and goggles. He said that he had seen them online, and simply had to purchase them. I certainly would have as well. They were something unlike anything I have seen before, and I want a pair like that too.
As I explained the project to Will, he mentioned that we had a lot in common actually. In the same way that I venture out in search of strangers for photos, he does the same in the way of stories that go into his online blog. I asked about the web page but didn't have any writing utensils on me nor my iPod with which to get his address. He said he'd e-mail me, so I'll update this entry once I get the link. He is from the area and knows Bloomington very well, moving around with his bicycle with trailer in tow. I didn't get the bicycle in the shot without a wide angle lens, but you could see the laptop that Will carries around for his blog entries.
Another thing that Will and I had in common were that we had both had our moment to meet and chat with the environmentalists scurrying around Bloomington looking for support these past couple of days. Led by their coordinator Raven, they have been seeking out people to fill out post cards to mail into the state government to support the bill limiting carbon emissions. Will had commented on how it was the only cause he had ever really believed in so he had filled out a card of his own this day, and I had commented that I had done likewise the day before. They were really good people with a good goal in mind, so it had convinced both Will and I to sign for their cause.
I am anxious to hear from Will, the blogger in bug-like glasses. I would sure like to see what he has discovered from the strangers around him.
