Windan Bridge
Windan is the name of the traffic bridge built over the Swan River to link East and West. Windan was the wife of Yallgunga the great chief of the Mooro tribe who controlled the Northern side of the Swan River at the time, as recorded in the Perth Gazette of April 1833.
It is known that Windan was buried near the old Bunbury Bridge and it is said that this was where she wanted to be buried. The exact location of her grave is unknown only that it was close to the Old Bunbury bridge crossing.
Yallgunga was Bidiar Marmun the Chief of the Mooro tribe. Windan was the Moyran Yorgamun, the wife of the Chief.
