Words Can Change Your Brain

One of my iBooks that I've been slowly reading, only a few pages each time I open it. At this rate it will take me several weeks more to finish. Which is okay, there's no need to hurry it -- this way I'll probably remember better and use the advice that looks helpful more often. Because so many books interest me I tend to read some of them too quickly and don't remember as much as I would like to.

By the way, although the iPad is my heaviest ebook reader it's my favorite, because the print is so sharp (my iPad 3 has the retina screen) and pages can be flipped through much more easily than on my Nook Touch and Kindle Paperwhite. Yes, I have all three and am currently reading books on all of them. Old fashioned books printed on paper are still my favorite format, except when the print is too small or when it's a question of what to take with me in my rucksack when I set out to walk a mile or two to a coffee shop. Only a very small percentage of my personal library is in ebooks, a proportion that's not likely to change much. A large majority of the books that interest me are not available in ebooks. And almost all of the many books I borrow from libraries are printed on paper.

In these pictures of the latest pages I've been reading in this iBook I have chosen the option to scroll the pages, which I'm getting to like better. I also like reading white or light gray on a black background, but I switched back to a traditional paper appearance for these iPad screen shots.
