Sutton Hoo Mound

Sutton Hoo near Woodbridge, Suffolk, England, is famous for being the burial place of (probably) the Kings of East Anglia from the 6th century and early 7th century.

 

A ship burial found at the site contained a rich collection of treasure - possibly belonging to King Raedwald.

 

The mound shown here has been reconstructed to its presumed original height.
