Hexagon Theatre, Reading 10

The Hexagon is a well-established multi-purpose venue, in the heart of Reading that was built in 1977. The nature of the performances at the venue means access up and down these stairways by patrons is often in low light levels which means there is a risk of missteps and falls.

 

Quantum Flooring Solutions was able to cater for the variety of needs within the theatre building with products from both it’s S and H Ranges of premium Stair Nosings. The Slenderline (S) Range is for use with slim gauge floorcoverings such as vinyl and Heavy Duty (H) Range for thicker gauges of floorcoverings such as carpet.

 

In addition to the safer slip-resistant step edge that all Quantum Flooring Solutions’ Stair Nosings provide, a photoluminescent tread material was used to provide a clear step edge contrast in all light conditions. This helps to prevent missteps and falls, providing peace of mind and a reduced risk for the theatre.

 

The double channel Stair Nosing used also provided a durable step edge in the high foot traffic areas within the theatre.
