Yellow on Red

I love it when Hooded Orioles migrate through our desert spot. Like most birds, they do not like the sight of a big lens, so I have to lie in wait hoping they will come to me. So in the early morning, with a good cup of coffee and my stool, I hide in the shade of an Ocotillo.

While I wait, I listen to the sounds of the desert birds and feel the soft warm desert air. Springtime is wonderful in the desert and the time passes quickly, especially when finally one of your target birds comes to you!
