Tainan Street Scene

We (USS Tolovana AO-64) were moored in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for a month to service four Destroyers on duty patrolling the Formosa Strait. Communist China was threatening to attack Taiwan's Quimoy and Matsu islands and had made a few air attacks. On one liberty, I took a bus load of our sailors on a sightseeing trip to Tainan, the old capitol of Taiwan.
