The Philosopher

Wuyishan is famous not only for its natural scenery, but also for its rich cultural heritage. Zhu Xi (朱熹), a Neo-Confucianist of the Southern Song Dynasty, lived here for over half a century. He was considered the greatest thinker, philosopher and educator of the post-Confucian era. Due to Zhu Xi, Wuyishan became the cradle of New-Confucianism.
