Parsloes Primary: African Inspired Hanging (Tie-dye)
Pixie worked at Parsloes Primary School in Dagenham with the year 6s for 2 days to create this African inspired wall hanging. The year 6s have been learning all about Africa this term. We explored traditional and modern African patterns and fabric decoration techniques before coming up with our own designs. The year 6s tie-dyed, batiked, screen-printed and press printed. The 60 individual squares were taken away and stitched together to complete the artwork. A wonderful legacy for year 6 to leave behind at Parsloes!
