Gorge de Grand-Sault

Grand-Sault (Madawaska-Victoria), Nouveau-Brunswick

 

Il a fallu des millions d’années à la puissante cascade pour creuser le lit du majestueux fleuve Saint-Jean et former la phénoménale gorge de Grand-Sault. Celle-ci encercle la moitié de la ville sur 1,5 km et ses parois atteignent jusqu’à 70 mètres de hauteur.

Grand Falls Gorge

Grand Falls (Madawaska-Victoria), New Brunswick

 

It took millions of years for the powerful cascade of water to carve the majestic St. John River bed from the rock and form the phenomenal Grand Falls Gorge, which stretches over 1.5 km (1 mi.), encircling half of the town and boasting walls up to 70 m (230 ft.) high.
