Santa Maria del Carmine

Heading out from the port we passed this distinctive tower belonging to the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, situated at at one end of Piazza Mercato (Market Square), one of the most historic sites in Naples. The church itself was founded in the 12th century by Carmelite monks driven from the Holy Land in the Crusades.
