2007_0514 Storm Front
Two days ago this storm front swept over Val Marie, producing damaging winds and torrential rain, and knocking out power. Yesterday the strong winds continued and we lost power just before supper. So... two evenings in a row I have cooked supper on my camp stove. Today all is calm and I think maybe we have returned to normal. Contrary to how things look in this photo, it wasn't the End Of the World.
Because these clouds were discharging lightning, I didn't set up my tripod, aka lightning rod. Even running out into this field for a few quick shots was dangerous, and more than half of them were blurred due to buffeting from the wind. I came home with a few keepers, though.
