Eye of the Beast

Exhibition promo shot for An Lanntair art gallery, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. I've been asked to supply a few display items for a month long exhibition concentrating on high performance engines.

LARGE view

For four weeks the gallery is being turned into a hotrod workshop. The centre piece is a real-life 3D exploded diagram of a Volkswagen air-cooled engine, using actual engine parts. It occupies most of the main gallery wall. I laid all the parts out on the gallery floor last week. Since then the exhibition staff have been figuring out how to mount everything on the wall. We also have a couple of cars parked in the gallery space: John Mitchell's 2332cc 1969 VW Beetle plus one of the last air-cooled Porsche 911s (thanks to longtime island motorsport legend Kiwi). Lewis Car Club have kindly loaned their drag race timing equipment.

Official opening is this Friday, 18th Feb at 5pm. If you're in the area, please call in and show your support and maybe slurp a glass of complimentary wine ;-)

The gallery's intention is to entice a new group of people into An Lanntair. Many thanks to Roddy Murray and all the staff at An Lanntair for giving island motorsport enthusiasts this opportunity.
