Sunset at Temple Bay

Temple Bay and Traeth Mawr on the beautiful Glamorgan Heritage Coast is a wonderful place to photograph in the daytime with its vast openness and scantily peopled areas. Sunset though is a different story and I struggled to find enough foreground interest to make a pleasing composition. From the 60 photographs I took on this beach during this visit, one third were sunset pics and half of those were fogged by steamed-up filters leaving just a handful of usable ones. This is one of them which has needed tidying in Photoshop to remove flare and a vapour trail.

I was on the beach with my friends Rob, Leighton and young Annabelle. I'm a glutton for punishment as I'm just about to go back to Dunraven Bay to show a group of camera club members how to do pitch-black photography, Rob is coming with me for support!
