uptown

The former Strong City Opera House operated from 1900 to the mid-1920s. By 1926 it was a 200-seat movie theater called The Lyric Theater. In 1928 it was renamed Twin City Theater, and by 1932 it was renamed Uptown Theater with 300 seats. The roof collapsed in 2000, and the city purchased the building and gave it a new roof. Renovation and restoration work began in 2017, but it’s hard to tell what the conditions are inside.
