Simpsons Gap

Simpsons Gap/Rungutjirpa is a water gap near Alice Springs in Tjoritja/West MacDonnell Ranges National Park, Northern Territory, Australia. Central Australia features hundreds of water gaps, geological features where a river cuts through a ridge or mountain range, and indicate catastrophic drainage of large volumes of water in ancient times.

This photo was taken on a Yashica 44a TLR with Rerapan 400 (127 format, likely cut down and re-rolled from Rollei RPX 400), and has been lightly edited for cropping/rotation, levels and aggressive highlight recovery.
