Our focus is on helping women start and scale their companies, making the opportunity to host an event around the #ChicagoVentureSummit very important to us. Babson College just reported that 2.7% of companies receiving venture capital funding from 2011-2013, had a woman CEO. This hits home with us and is the primary reason we exist today- without capital nearly half the businesses created today, have a 2.7% chance at capturing funding to build a scalable company. Making it evident that we still have a long road ahead, it is so important to us to send a big thank you to our members, council, team, sponsors and friends for making this event possible. A special note of appreciation with our warmest gratitude goes out to World Business Chicago, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, cardconnect, Justworks, Chicago Venture Summit, and FoodTrace.
With this overwhelming and incredible support we continue to seek out our mission for change, motivating our lofty goals, embracing national and global initiatives that circle back to Chicago. A city where extremely knowledgeable tech and business women come together, where inclusive community bolsters success, jobs and future economic growth.
