Curiosity of Snow

This is the railing/wall on a balcony at our weekend cabin in Norway. I found it so interesting how the snow seemed to move back and forth. Perhaps shaped by wind? Change in temperature causing slight melting? And the cooling and more snow? Then by it's own weight. I also cut out a section to have another look.
