My mother flew out to Hawai'i (where the majority of my extended family lives) when my grandfather was dying of cancer. I didn't hear about his death because I'd been traveling. When I got back, my mother called me from the party where his four children (and many, many other people) were celebrating his life. I make these comics, with my own words and my own images.
