Left: Image in normal illumination. Circle denotes an area of corrosion area that has significantly advanced during the exhibition monitoring period of one year.

Right: Image taken with short wave Ultra-Violet lighting (UVC). Note location of green fluorescence. Analysis of the fluorescing material indicates a copper cyanide complex (identified in earlier research), probably from the historic plating chemistry. These are reactive sites that corrode and cause irreversible image deterioration in high relative humidity conditions.
