Just Add Water...

...is a really simple recipe for eye candy.

This afternoon's trip to Springton Manor Farm was merely a "let's see how the foliage is coming along" kind of trip. Of course I brought my gear...kinda like American Express...I never leave home without it. Standing in for my trusty tripod was my faithful K-9 companion, Sully. In the two and a half short years we've been together we've walked and hiked hundreds of miles...literally. Today I would have preferred my tripod! I guess he was just having a 'moment'. A really really really loooooong moment. He was pretty much outta control from the word go. From the time we got into the truck...no...I take that back...before we ever made into the truck...he was completely marching to the beat of his own drum.

I have always been impressed by his uncanny knack for leading through the woods. He is always on a lead...most of the state and county parks we visit require it...I'm one of the FEW (hint hint) who obey and respect the leash law while in the woods. Anyway...even while 15 to 20 feet out, I'm always in amazement at his choices of path being the same as mine...'until today' I can't honestly remember the last time he went to one side of a tree and myself another. Key words being...'until today'. Today he broke all the rules. Too numerous to list, but, let's say it starts at wrong side of the tree...again...and ends with...I can't believe you just ate horse poop.

So, to make a long story...just barely shorter...the foliage was prime, the light was great, my nerves were shot, my trusty tripod was where my faithful companion should have been...in the damn truck :-) Every time I finally started to feel my groove ...or found my Mo Jo...it was broken by one of any number of things compliments of...Sully. I managed to grab a couple of keepers, but I am looking forward to the revisit tomorrow...sans THE dog.
