acetone for de-glueing the gluey
Nail polish *containing* acetone worked quite well at removing the leftover tacky remnants of old doublestick tape on the trim pieces.
I used my left thumbnail to do a combo scrape/wipe thing over the tacky surface with those acetone-laden cotton balls ... it worked fairly well but didn't leave me much of a thumbnail, or feeling in the tip of that digit.
I don't exactly hope to do this particular project again, but there is a part of me that really wants to streamline my own scraping and application process, a part that does quietly hope that something might possibly not go quite right this time around and maybe possibly would need to be reapplied.
