Dan Curcio of Still Time playing outside his Yurt in the hills of Cayucos, California. Please check out his amazing work here: dancurcio.com/
Still Time stilltimemusic.com/ is a staple of Central Coast live music and they're playing some of their last shows over the next few months--truly a bummer. But Dan is continuing solo and could never disappoint. Just listening to him fool around is inspirational and this was one of the most fun shoots I've been a part of.
I woke up to a downpour yesterday morning, thinking I would play the lazy card and watch the Bears rip up Philip Rivers goofy, Tosh.0-looking face. (darn you and your stupid thumb, Cutler.) We had planned to start a bonfire at Pismo dunes that afternoon but the weather outside Dan's sick yurt in Cayucos was actually pretty good--plenty of storm clouds with some glimpses of sun. The main reason this shoot was so fun was the creative freedom I was given. When words like "trippy" and "obscure" are used to describe the theme.... I'M IN. Now how the heck could I take advantage of the moving clouds? The 10-Stop ND Filter of course. I was told some ominous shots would be great and I thought I'd try my hand at some ghosting to play into that feel. So we have this obscure mess.
Take it or leave it--most of you will leave it, but for whatever reason I'm pretty excited about this one.

As always I appreciate all your comments, both negative and positive (I imagine there will be some good jabs at this one!) and thanks for baring with me-there might be a bit of a lull in my usual landscape posts...
