Nowadays the only Routemasters still operated by Transport for London drive two 'heritage routes' linking famous landmarks.

 

Some of the reasons for replacing them were that they are not wheelchair accessible and that they require two people to operate them, a driver and a conductor, who you can see here on the aft balcony.
