Philadelphians know that City Hall is in the midst of being restored. But you can't really appreciate how much work needs to be done until you take the tour. Look at the discoloration and rust deposits on the facade. I took this photo from the chamber on the 7th floor.
What's most disappointing is that the City can't find a use for this building. I read a post on Phillyblog that said there are a few courtrooms, and some judges' chambers, But City Hall is largely a vast wasteland. It's sad to see such a glorious building fall into disrepair and disuse.
