The Old Northwest Gas Site(qvxu)
The entrance to the site. This used to be gated hence the 'door bell' - the comms tower is in the background. One of Morecambes most recognisable land marks is the comms tower at the old ‘Northwest Gas’ ( before it all got privatised ) site. I worked here for a short time as part of my work experience from school before it was closed and turned in to a new industrial estate. Now partly redeveloped Stage Coach have their local depot here and a couple of new buildings have sprung up but the tower its self still remains as its a vital part of the communication system for British Gas and its workers.
