The first day of the Medellin Flower Parade presents elaborately decorated buses, mostly buses of yesteryear. They’re called chivas and often have attached to them is a silleto, a circular flower arrangement, as well as other adornments. Along with the chivas are local musical bands and people enjoying a stroll along the parade route. There are also some customized vehicles including some decorated police vehicles.
